16th Annual Morty Manford Award

The Queens Chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) has selected Marriage Equality New York, as the recipient of the 16th Annual Morty Manford Award. The Morty Manford Award recognizes an individual or organization whose work on behalf of the lesbian and gay community of Queens best exemplifies the pioneering political spirit of the late Morty Manford, and who serves as a positive and visible role model for the LGBT aCommunity.

12th Annual Carmel Tavadia Memorial Award

The Queens Chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) has selected Laura Cadorette, of the "Queens Lesbian and Gay Pride Committee" and "The Lesbian and Gay Democratic Club of Queens" as the recipient of the 12th Annual Carmel Tavadia Memorial Award. The Carmel Tavadia Award recognizes outstanding work and support of true family values by an individual or organization.

4th Annual Brenda Howard Memorial Award

The Queens Chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) has selected Wendy Curry, Long Time Bisexual community Activist Current President of BiNet USA, as the recipient of the 4th Annual Brenda Howard Memorial Award. The Brenda Howard Award recognizes an individual or organization whose work on behalf of the bisexual community (as well as the whole BLGT community) best exemplifies the pioneering and political spirit of the late bisexual Activist and "mother of pride" Brenda Howard.

The celebration will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2009, 1:00 P.M., at ABBRACCIAMENTO’S restaurant, 62-96 Woodhaven Blvd. Rego Park, NY Tickets for the fund Raiser are $55 or $500 for a table that seats 10. For more information call (718) 271-6663.
