15th Annual Morty Manford Award
The Queens Chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) has
selected ARI GERSHMAN, Secretary of the Queens Lesbian Gay Pride Committee (QLGPC),
as the recipient of the 15th Annual Morty Manford Award.
The Morty Manford Award recognizes an individual or organization whose
work on behalf of the lesbian and gay community of Queens best exemplifies the pioneering political
spirit of the late Morty Manford, and who serves as a positive and visible role model for the LGBT
aCommunity.
11th Annual Carmel Tavadia Memorial Award
The Queens Chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) has
selected José R. Peralta New York State Assemblyman (39th Queens Assembly District)
as the recipient of the 11th Annual Carmel Tavadia Memorial Award.
The Carmel Tavadia Award recognizes outstanding work and
support of true family values by an individual or organization.
3nd Annual Brenda Howard Memorial Award
The Queens Chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) has selected
Wendy Moscow, Long Time Bisexual community Activist, as the recipient
of the 2nd Annual Brenda Howard Memorial Award.
The Brenda Howard Award recognizes an individual or organization whose work on behalf
of the bisexual community (as well as the whole BLGT community) best exemplifies the pioneering and political spirit
of the late bisexual Activist and "mother of pride" Brenda Howard.
Where and when:
The celebration will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2007, 1:00 P.M., at
ABBRACCIAMENTO’S restaurant, 62-96 Woodhaven Blvd. Rego Park, NY
Tickets for the fund Raiser are $55 or $500 for a table that seats 10.
